Saginaw M. Grant

Traditional Dancer-Actor-Mentor

Lecturer-Writer-Activist

As the announcer asks for everyone to please rise, and the singers begin the song of the parade in. Often, the first person entering the arena carrying the Eagle Staff is Saginaw Grant.

It's at times like these, that this man asks himself, "How did I get blessed with such an honor among my people?"  His humbleness and simplicity of life allow him to remain grounded and close to his Creator.

His native traditional pride is shown so clearly through his eyes. It is in each stride he takes when dancing in the arena, or entering a room full of graduating students. With a great deal of compassion for his people, he is a tool used by the Creator to touch lives everywhere.

But also allowing himself time to nurture his children and grandchildren through his actions. The blood running through the veins of this man comes from a very dignified family.

His ancestors from both of his parents are highly regarded in the Native community in Oklahoma, as well as the United States. It is with this background that allows him to find the strength to uphold responsibilites given to him by the people.

He will always remain grateful for the recognition and support of his family and friends.

Saginaw hopes that your visit to his website will be enjoyable.
He cherishes all who have helped him along his journey.

"May the Creator bless each and everyone of you."
